LT4 Mobil 1 0W-40

Is there any bulletin or anything that says that this is what should be used now? Or is that just what they are filling the new ones up? I went to get my oil changed and the dealer was very confused. (I changed my filler cap)

I just talked to Mobil 1 rep. He said they are now recommending Mobil 1 ESP 0W40 to Chevrolet for all their LT1 and LT4's for the Corvette. He said it was so you could go back and forth between the street and track without continually changing oil from 5w30 to 15w50 and back again. However, for my car, an '18 ZL1 1LE that you deviate from the manual at your own risk if a problem should develop. Of course. What would you expect.

I think Chevy only specs the new 0w40 for the 2019 cars as shown in the post above. I haven't seen anybody post where Chevy has issued an official change for the recommended oil on the previous LT1 and LT4 engines.

I have a early production 18zl1 built 7-17-17 and my performance manual has the 0-40 in it. my dealer even updated my oil cap for me for free and doesn't charge me any extra for the oil. gotta love that plus I still have 9 oil changes left on the package I bought when I bought the car

I ordered my oil last year no issues at all. This year I am getting all kinds of songs and dances about why they cant do it now.

Just now I got an email:
Genuine GM Parts Direct <support@genuinegmpartsdirect.com>

to me

We cannot ship oil because it is hazardous material and we are not able to ship it.

If it can't be shipped, then how did they get it? I've bought oil on line before and it can be shipped ground.
