Get GM's sales volumes back up and then the plant being utilized will put itself back on the table.

it would be fully utilized except they keep on taking its products away and giving them to Mexico.

This is a carefully planned closure to take advantage of $2 an hour labor.

This is a slap in the face to Canadian workers and Canadian taxpayers.

For over a hundred years general motors has been doing business in Oshawa they chose to kill it

Please provide evidence of $2 per hour labor.

Petitions are good to keep a cancelled tv show on the air, not so much for keeping car plants open when volume and sales suck.....

Nothing is going to stop this, all we can do is never buy another GM vehicle. That's my plan, this is my last.

The article is 2 years old BTW,so the numbers aren't current.
Bottom line,GM is not keeping any of these plants open. In the early '80s,I was affected by downsizing in a different industry but I get it. It's hard on everybody involved.
I've done my part by buying 3 new GM vehicles since Thanksgiving (US),2017. Whether you remain loyal is of course up to you.

If you plan on how you make your purchasing decisions on how a company treats its employees you will find your life pretty barren since it's pretty much slave labor everywhere particularly overseas

It's all about choices the only way to show these companies that they need to stay in Canada and the u.s. is telling them with your wallet.

I mean hell you have choices they made your Camaro in the states. Dodge produces the Challenger just down the street from you right here in Canada.

I don't see any need for you to justify job loss in Canada or the states
