Tire size problem

I got the mrr replica rims from phastek. 315/35 20 on 20x11 rims on back and 285/30 20 on 20x10 on the front.
Test drive it and get power steering, abs, and all kinds of warnings to service. Not to mention every time I hit the brakes over 30mph I could feel the abs kicking in until all the warnings. While the warnings were on I got reduced power steering and prolly no abs or stabilitrak.

I realize after buying the rubber that I messed up on the front tire size. Should have gotten 35 aspect ratio. So now the computer is lost in translation and puking up errors

What are my options? Not sure if I can return the rubber...

Pull fuses 40 & 43 to disable the nannys until you can figure out a solution. It also disables power steering.

Right but the rears are 110mm
Even if I get the 285/35's it'll be 99.75mm
I would think that 10mm would still throw things off...
There's nothing to recalibrate the ecu to the new sizes?

IIRC, stock sizes are (F/R) 245/45/20 & 275/40/20. Those equate to a tire size of 28.68 & 28.66 inches respectively. Your new sizes, 315/35/20 & 285/35/20 equate to 28.66 & 26.73 inches respectively. It is the approximate 1" difference in tire height that is causing all of your issues. You can run the stock rear size up front without any issues. MY current setup is a 315/35/20 & 275/45/20 and I have ZERO issues.

Hope this helps.

Your 285's really needed to be 285/40.

Even 285/35 could be pushing it once you consider tire wear not being equal front vs rear and replacing the rears only.

285/40 calculates out to a tire that is 28.98" tall, about 1/3" taller than either the 275/40 or 315/35. I don't know where the limit is for the computer, as far it not losing it's mind over the tire size difference.

3% is the number I've heard the most reliably.

Doesn't mean there couldn't be a little more tolerance, but it doesn't mean that there is either.

So, what i am not hearing is that the dealer can reprogram, or update my ecu to accept the new sizes. I think the ZL1 has over 1" difference between the fronts and rears... so maybe there is something a dealer can do????

It looks bad ass with the tires on it now.. i want to keep it this way
Theres gotta be something I can do.

Nope.

27.9" front, 28.4" rear . . . only half an inch.

All the wishing in the world isn't going to make it what you want here. No 5th gen Camaro ever came with as much stagger as you've chosen.

The only way I can think of where you *might* be able to get it to work involves a fair amount of machine shop work where you'd have to be able to describe exactly what you need him to do. He'd be starting from fresh chunks of iron or steel.

So I guess your choice is between having a car you actually enjoy driving and doesn't get in your way of enjoying it . . . or a car that satisfies your appearance preferences but is basically worthless for anything other than its value as an expensive driveway ornament.

Nope, no feature in HP Tuners for changing tire sizes. Go get some 275/40/20's, or drop down to a 19" wheel in the front.....I'm sure you could sell those 285's fairly quickly in the classified section/craigslist.
