Sublime, stunningly responsive and agile. Settles instantaneously with grip and brakes that do not quit. Quick, powerful, fast AND dependable. OEM and aftermarket parts are reasonable and readily available.
Plus, if you ever get tired of the intoxicating sound of the LT4, someone mentioned that there is a Bose sound system in these things. And... your ass stays cool in the ventilated seats. All at an amazing value! World class performance that a hard working American man/woman can afford.

However it’s not s big deal to them. If they wanted they could buy 2 for the price of 1 Porsche. Not pissing them off. It’s a new day.

Just another car Jones!

I just love these threads. So many takes, so little time! I am receiving mine (2018 ZL11LE) today, Friday, at my home in Hermosa Beach. Cool!! Have only sat in one and drove for a few minutes...so I don't know sh$t. But from what i know and what I felt......kinda reminds me of my Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster.....It's like wearing a seatbelt while straddling a 550hp bull who wants to kill you. would be a hellova golf cart!

I love all the comments. I've had my ZL1 1LE since August. While my race experience isn't what you would call extensive by any means, I, with my team of miscreants, have done several endurance races since 2012...Lemons and WRL... and many track days in between and since with everything from stock Miata's to a race prepped GT3 Porsche. The group ranges from intermediate racecar drivers to instructors to one septugenarian. (That would be me.)
If you've stuck with me this long, then you'll be happy to hear that I really have a point to make. With the Camaro in the Track/S2 mode even I can walk away from almost all of them at our local track...stick tight on the corners and absolutely kil'em on the straights. Not even close. But here is the best part. Braking. Even when they cleverly wait until the last second to point me by, the brakes will absolutely pop my eyeballs out. I have no doubt that, in the hands of Ian, our most capable pilot, new local track records for bone stock production cars would be set. But we will never know, will we? Why, you say? Because unless buys his own 1LE, or is lucky enough borrow someone else's,...well you get the picture. BTW, this isn't my daily driver. I would never use it as such. Too old to take the beating. It is a factory racecar. End of story. No aftermarket stuff for me. Don't need it. It's truly a beast and I love it. |

I echo others for sure. Bad ass car, perhaps not the greatest daily for some people or locations, and addictive.
My daily is a F350 dually Limited. Or I can take our family hauler LX 570. Wife drives the Range Rover daily (long wheelbase supercharged). So you can see how the Camaro is hard to turn down for me...big truck, family wagon, or loud missile. The ZLE is enough to make you give up on other projects. My 1970 Torino Cobra 429 is sitting in pieces...and I'm second-guessing my intentions on bringing her back to life. For the same cost of proper revival I can have this ZLE and the new Shelby GT500. Modern muscle coupled with safety and comfort that I can't achieve with the Torino. Plus, I won't have to spend endless hours in the garage while my family is off doing other things. |
