Dex-Cool 50/50
So I saw another thread on this but not to many answers on the color change, turned in to convo about proper full level. Factory coolant is pink to reddish and the current Prestone dex-cool 50/50 is orange. Does that matter at all? I need to top off both the upper and lower surge tanks.

You really only need to care that it's Dexcool so it wont react with what you have already in the system. To be honest, the color is there mostly for troubleshooting and safety and does not define what type it is. For example, there are NOAT coolants out there that are red and look very similar to Dexcool but are not.

Figured the color was insignificant, just kind of questioning how the factory puts in a pink dexcool and it's not available OTC. Thanks for the reply.

Follow up....the dex cool is the same color as what comes in the car from the factory. I was misinformed about the color being orange. Added some yesterday and it's the same pinkish hue despite the orange cap.
