Not quite... it boosts the voltage to your in tank pump to increase output under load... I believe this gets you an additional 100rwhp +/- worth of low side head room...

These cars LOVE E, and run sooooo much stronger at E50 range... the kits are cheap and not hard to installl...

It provides reliable voltage to your Fuel pump control module which in turn controls the pump.
