So few "Bolt Ons?"

So I have the PRAY ported intake manifold and TB. The Rotofab is in the mail. After that, I know I can do the exhaust, but is that IT? Maybe i'm just old school, but I kinda miss the days when I could throw so many other small bolt ons at my cars. It was fun to spend a little extra $$, install a part, and add it to the list...So, am I forgetting other worthwhile bolt ons that our cars respond well to, or is intake/exhaust/tune pretty much all we can do?

You're just not going to get much out of bolt-ons. Lot of money for not a lot of gain.

The reason why you could do more little mods and gain on the older platforms is simply because the parts that came on them were more restrictive. Those platforms were not nearly as optimized as the engines today.

E85 tune is by far the best gain for dollar spent on the LT1. On 91 octane you are lucky if your engine is getting 20-21 degrees timing. With E85 these engines will take 28-29 degrees and gain 25+ whp. Far as exhaust, headers is the only part that will gain power. So yea there is not a lot of bolt-on mods for these cars, but they do respond well to the mods that are available. 17" drag pack also will need some good gains. Prays ported heads are another good mod. Weight reduction will help...rear seat delete, lighter battery, carbon fiber hood.

So picking up 75+ whp with Ported IM/TB, CAI, Headers, E85 tune is not much of a gain?

Wide 17s in rear and skinny 17s in front for rims. Drag radials in rear. Small lightweight skinny tire in front.

Basically a wheel and tire setup for the drag strip

Oh ok - I figured on the wheel setup, but wasn't sure if it included other suspension components.

I am about to start vending a really nice catch can and I am also working on a ram air piece for the Roto-fab but will work with the other CAI's if you can get them to seal up. You could also do an under drive pulley. And then as King mentioned, you can "bolt on" a set of my ported heads. There are electric cut outs as well but with where mine ended up they didn't do much. However, I have a full 3" exhaust so I wasn't expecting much.

Brett, Looking forward to hearing more about the ram air piece, sounds interesting.

Interested in the ram air as well.

I haven’t seen an under drive crank pulley for the lt1 yet...

Does anyone even offer an underdrive pully kit for the LT1?

LOL! As do many others. Love your car.

OP, I'm trying to figure out why you believe that there aren't many bolt ons for this car. It's NA, so it does negate "pulley swaps" or a BOV and turbo controller, but still, we have just as many bolt ons as any other NA car.

And bolt ons do quite a bit to this car and are worth every penny.

Ive been looking and I have not been able to find one. I had one on my last car and it was one of my favorite mods for the money.
