Finally I have joined your cult!
Been wanting this body style since 2009 when they first came out. Ended up purchasing a Black 2013 2SS. Manual, Cammed, and aftermarket hood.
Couple questions! 1. I really like the look of the satin/matt black wrapped hoods. Good idea or not? And how much typically does it take to wrap a hood? 2. I travel with a large cup. Don't leave home w/out it. The cup holders get in the way of shifting gears. Anyone purchased extra cup holders successfully? I found some on amazon, just curious experience before I waste my time. 3. Cammed sound. I fkn love it. Loud as piss. But...my wife..think it's too loud. Is there a cheap/easy maybe portable way to add sound dampeners? Silencers I've heard of? Pros/Cons of this? Just curious of options. 4. What else do I need to know boys? Tips/Tricks? That's all I can think of for now. I'm in love. |

Congrats!
Not sure about 1,2, and 4. But as for 3, I would just get a new wife.

Congrats!! Enjoy the hell out of that machine!! Too loud?? Never. Put a set of cutouts on there, then you will be loud!! Oh and a new wife would be good too, my gap loves it especially with the cutouts open. Of course she comes from a drag racing family. lol. Have fun sir !!

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the site. Matte wrap on the hood isn’t bad as long as you use a Matte detailer to keep it clean. Many people here have used or are using the travel buddy for the drinks. As for the exhaust what are you running now? You could always change it out for a quieter exhaust.

I wrapped my own hood for like $85 using 3M 1080 Satin Black. It's the easiest wrap I have ever worked with, but my stock hood is nice and flat. Not knowing the type of hood you have may change things. I think it's like $200-300 to have done professionally.

For the cup holder, I have the following.
https://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=4986 I had to cut my weather tech floor liner on the passenger side for it to fit, but they are definitely worth it.

Welcome to the family!
For the sound, I would check if you have a stock exhaust, if it's that loud I suspect it's not stock anymore, you can shop around for different ones that are quieter. Also, is it the noise in the cabin at certain rpms or is it all the time and outside the car? You might want to look into j-pipes if what you're hearing is drone inside the cabin, there are lots of threads about that. For the cupholder, I recommend (edit: not with the beer, obviously):

hah, thanks guys! As for a new wife...i asked her if I could and she said no. Then she said "I have spoken!" and walked away.
Travel buddy looks good, tho $50 for a cup holder seems steep! I don't exactly know the brand/model of the after market parts, I will try and get a list. |

Ok how loud is it and what level would she be happy with if she is being reasonable then I would add some mufflers that lower the volume some bit not be restrictive for the wife.
Then I would add cutouts So that way you can have it loud when you want and she can have it a little quieter. Now if she will only be happy if it’s whisper quiet then don’t bother and just drive it. Cammed cars with free flowing exhausts will always have a rumble. If you put one on that quiets it a lot then it will be too restrictive. I would try to talk her into a AGP turbo kit.It would lower the exhaust a lot and you would have a faster car. |

Welcome to the dark side. Let the wife drive the car for one day and she will change her mind.
