Now the Amalie is no longer around, ended up getting two 5qt jugs of Mobil 1 5w40 European formula... not Dexos certified.
Don't want to run a 0w oil in my car, nor do I want to run a 5w30 in the summer.

Car doesn't burn any oil so I doubt it will kill the cats any time soon.

i run torco sr1 5w40 in my car no issues not dexos approved but i dont have warranty anymore so who cares...

Any opinions on Motul 5W-40

I am about to have the 1500 miles service done including the oil change in the differential. The engine oil my shop is using is the Motul 5W-40. Any experience with this oil? I am mainly using my SS for street, no track yet.

my 2023 manual says DEXOS R
WHICH ONLY COMES IN MOBILE 1 SUPERCAR
https://www.gmdexos.com/index.html

The LT1 and LT4 engines are factory filled
with 0W-40 dexosR oil. 0W-40 dexosR
engine oil is approved for both track and
street use with the LT1 and LT4 engines.
15W-50 full synthetic engine oil may also be
used for track use, but after track use must
be changed back to 0W-40 dexosR for street
use. See Capacities and Specifications 0 37.

dexosR is "recommended". 5W-30 dexos1 is still fine for street use in at least the LT1 motor. They really are working hard to make this super confusing.

The list is outdated with oils no longer produced, and includes many oils not available in this hemisphere.

What are you guys running for your higher HP modded cars? I was getting aerating issues with the recommended oil so switched to a more viscous PennGrade SAE50 race oil.

Mobil 1 Supercar Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 0W-40, Dexos R. And where are we with recommended filter? I'm using a Mobil 1 filter #M1-113 now.

I run Amsoil 0-40 but I also don’t track my car yet. Our local new track just opened and waiting for more public run days once all the millionaires finish paying for all their privileges and they realize they need the Lehman to support the track

If you don't take your car to the track, you can use 5w-30.
