Added Lumbar Support $13.00

So I drove the Camaro over 1k miles in a recent trip and realized the seat lacked lumbar support. I went online and did not see a factory add-on option. I researched and found the following solution.

  • You can leave the seat in-place and unzip the back of the seat
  • Went to Walmart and purchased a very inexpensive foam mattress topper for a twin bed
  • The brace in the back of the seat can be removed by pulling the wires out of the resting holes on both sides (super easy)
  • Then I tripled the foam I cut to fit the length & width of the lower section
  • I also added one additional metal spline at the bottom because they left a large gap at the bottom from the factory (for this - I used a wire hanger and cut it to length and bent the ends like the factor ones that were already in place)
It is now significantly better and is VERY sturdy. I thought I would share because there are several threads about this and it is super easy to remedy.

Hope this can help some others...

Thanks
