The regular ZL1 hold their valve? They are already dropping a hell in.

They need to go under glass at this point until they will return a dime to anyone 20 to 30 years down the road. If they ever do. I could see gas engine cars being completely worthless once fuel for them is outlawed or used up. I would say outlawed first though. Who cares about rare it is if you can't even start it? Its just metal and plastic taking up space at that point.

With the way horsepower is advancing you can't expect these not to depreciate, I personally bought mine because it was a leap ahead of the others at the time, I didn't buy it as an investment, I bought it to drive.

I hate when someone says "investment" and " sports car" in the same sentence. Unless saying "cars are not a typical investment," or something similar. you are only investing your money into fun to be had and maybe if it's a performance value. I don't look at sports cars as anything else but a toy. I never care about depreciation because I don't buy a car and not get my fun out of it.

I'm so glad I got mine under msrp... But on my GT350 I lost my ass from paying ADM therefore I will never pay over msrp again ever! I don't buy them as an investment but paying anything over makes it a terrible investment any way you look at it besides getting the car you want as soon as it's released.

I agree. It’s a feel good, enjoy life purchase. Would buy again and again.

About the only way you can say investment and sports car in the same sentence is buying a rotisserie rebuilt classic '69 something and values can go up.

A lot of good perspectives presented here, but if you keep your cars for the long term, the "Deprecation " factor isn't really a big deal. It has always been as such. Now if you're trading in early, say on a ZR1, and want a payment u can live with and don't plan on buying outright, you have to put down the negative equity plus. Your choice.

I dunno. I've always wanted my Z to approve of me.

Sorry, just had to.

Camaro's residual values suck! This is why I leased my RS. $44,000.00 2018 1LE SS residual value is $17800.00 in 36 months LOL!!! Looks Like I will pick up a nice 1LE in 2 years on the cheap.

That isn't going to happen. Even if a majority of vehicles are electric there will still be fuel available. Look at it like this, cars went to fuel injection like 30 years ago and you can still buy stuff for carb'd engines whenever you want. And there will be alternative fuels for use too. Gasoline engines will still be produced for quite a while. And they will continue to be on the road decades from now.

Are you sure about that? I haven't even seen 2013 1LEs that low.

The only official numbers we received were Green. These are pretty good estimates though.
