There are always trade-offs.
The reputed hard ride of run flats vs being stranded when the tire damage is beyond repair with a bottle of goop. I had an experience on the New York Thruway worth mentioning. My battery died at a gas station there. Calling AAA, I was told they didn't cover the Thruway because there was a tow company with an exclusive contract. And they gave me the number. But and but...there was no answer...so I was stuck with wife and daughter at 10:00 pm on the thruway on a cold night. Then I remembered a Car Talk episode which gave the counter-intuitive advice to turn on the headlights, count to 60, and try again. Sure enough, I got the car started and made it to the hotel in Ithaca. I was able to repeat the same Click and Clack magic in the morning and got the car to a garage that replaced the battery. Moral of the story: don't look down your nose at run flats or claim that AAA will come to your rescue no matter what. |

I've always had good luck with the Continental ExtremeContact tires. Continental all season tires perform well in both dry and wet condition too. They ride smooth and no noise. Best tire I've ran so far.

Are Pilot Sport 4S really all seasons? I thought they were summer tires that did really well in the rain.

They are NOT all-seasons. They ARE summer tires that do really well in the rain. Please re-read the posts about them above.

The original PS4S, as Matt stated, is a summer tire with excellent water evacuation ability.

I have the Conti DWS06+ on my ZL1 in stock sizes (285/30/20 and 305/30/20) - they're really good tires. A huge improvement over any summer tire for cool and cold temps. In warm weather they are still better until the summer tires come up to temp. I had the Michelin A/S 3 on my former Mustang GT, and they were also good, seemed similar to the DWS06+.

I do not have a car as higher end as you, but based on budget I am considering these.
Some good reviews overall, gotta be way better ride and quiet compared to Run Flats And I found a place at $216.00 per tire for my size 245/40R20 free shipping too FIRESTONE TIRE FIREHAWK AS V2, All Seasons |

One of the worst things you can do is cheap out on tires for these cars. I would stick with the Conti’s or the Michelins.

I am in the minority here, as I generally stick with sub-$200 tires.
General gmax as 05 (now being phased out, new model is AS 07) BFG comp2 plus AS General slightly better in snow, BFG slightly better in rain. I prefer BFG I think general has a few days left on their rebate (until the next one rolls around). |

Anyone serious about driving a Camaro in the winter just needs to get another set of rims and put Blizzacks or something similar on them. Period! C'mon!
