Program teen driver mode

How do I program the other key for teen driver? Nothing in the manual and can't find anything online! I can get so far to where I get to put the key in the key pocket the cup holder I assume and nothing? Any input?

None of that don't let them drive the car like in fb please

Thank you!

Looks like it's a mylink menu. there's a process to register a given key fob as the "teen" key. Everything appears to be setup through mylink.

In any case, you're more trust-worthy than I would be. Letting anyone who didn't pay for the car themselves with the power that a 2ss has is not something I would even entertain. I would point and laugh, then get super serious and laugh some more.

Heck, my son's 30 years old and there's no way he's driving my baby.

Lol. Mine is 18 and he drove mine last week. Admittedly I was in there with him. But the perma-grin was priceless.

OP asked how to program the teen driver mode not for your opinion on kids driving the car. Just because your child is too slow/irresponsible to drive a camaro doesn't mean it's a bad idea. Keep your opinion to yourself.

Agree, also this is exactly what teen driver mode was made for. You can limit the power of the car.

I saw it in the mylink menu, pretty sure you can program it from there.

  1. Choose a key fob to use as the Teen Driver key
  2. Place key fob in rear cupholder
  3. Turn on ignition (hold start button for 5 seconds without pressing pedal, or start engine)
  4. From MyLink Home menu, choose Settings
  5. Choose Teen Driver option
  6. Set and confirm PIN
  7. Use manage settings option within Teen Driver to turn on/off speed limits, warnings, etc.

You could actually use this feature when bringing your car to the dealership or any time someone else will be driving your car. It doesn't have to be your teenager. The car will be limited to your settings whenever the Teen Driver key fob is used, and the Report Card will be available afterward to see exactly how the car was driven.

BTW, the information is in the MyLink Infotainment manual, and the rear cupholder location is specified in the Owner's manual under the Remote Keyless Entry programming section.

I might be wrong, but I didn’t think teen driving mode actually limited anything - it just reported on how the car was driven?

No, it actually does limit a couple things:
  • Limits car speed to 85 mph
  • Limits audio volume to whatever you set it to

Also, there's an audible and visible warning whenever a certain speed is exceeded, and it can't be dismissed. You can set this limit to whatever you want.
