Please delete this thread before more visitors get the wrong idea!!!

When this thread gets taken down, I’ll be making a new one, first to apologize, post pictures for those who think this vehicle isn’t mine, update on how I’ve been improving on my driving ability with the car, my progress, as well as my future goals with this particular vehicle. Yes I’ll, be ready to be scolded more and more. I deserve it.

Thanks “arpad_m” for telling me how to edit this. Hopefully things will tone down a bit now.

Sounds like something is wrong. Bring to dealer.

Throw your K&N filter in the trash 1st though...

Something seems a little off, when you hit the gas you should feel an immediate response and have no issues passing someone. Have you checked to see if there is any issues with your throttle body? I know others have changed out to either ported throttle bodies and have heard that it helps a lot.

Hmm, I’m not entirely sure, but on May 10th, I bought the car at 13458 miles.
The only thing that was different, are the tires, they’re not the stock ones, this one has General G Max tires, not the stock Goodyear ones, idk these tires are good or not, for performance

Getting 0-60 times in the high 5-6 sec range is much more than a little off. The car is broken.

V8s don't have lag... at all. This isn't a turbo car.

OP, throw away the K&N so they don't deny warranty claims and bring it to the dealer.

They're good all season tires from what a lot have said on this forum. I wonder if the person before has ever had the throttle body and intake cleaned. Definitely take it to the dealer and explain what happens. Will probably have a tech take it out and test it, if something is wrong you're still under the 36k powertrain warranty so it'll get fixed

This car shouldn’t be suffering from such performance at such a low mileage, considering my current 16,941 miles. I still have the OEM filter, so I’ll swap that out in the mean time then take it to the dealer, but what you guys are saying as if the car shouldn’t be off by this much, there seems to be something wrong, and yes, the V8 does have lag, but not as much as other SS owners. I suspect there could be something wrong with my car only, at least I hope not.

Idk how other SS owner’s bone stock compare to my crappy stats. Do you guys have issues accelerating off of idle? Taking a little “too long” to pass other cars?
Losing to stock V6 stangs. Car BARELY, if not accelerating at all from medium throttle, assuming 55°-65° throttle. I’m very upset and disappointed, at this. What’s worse is my old 335i would probably beat my own SS...

Bad Running SS

Sori for your issues. I have a 16 month old 2018 2SS with the 8-Spd Auto. My car RIPS. No issues with performance whatsoever. You HAVE to have something wrong with the car. My car woke up performance-wise at about 1500 miles. It's only got 4,500 miles on it now, but it runs fine, accelerates like a scalded dog and will light the tires when I jump on it at 50. Get it looked at.

But I thought all SS’s had lags, I’ve read many many forums regarding the throttle response on these cars in general; but the response/lag for my SS specifically, is severe... hence the difficulty and time It takes to pass others.

The car was bone stock when I bought it, as the dealer specified, and I’ve done absolutely nothing but a crappy non beneficial K&N drop in filter.

Damn! I wish mine performed as well as yours; idk if our mileage gap makes a difference in performance; I really hope the dealer takes it in, as well as they better not say there’s nothing wrong with it; as there clearly is, as what everyone here is specifiying
