Those wheels look awesome!

What are the weights and price for those wheels in the ZL1 1LE size?

Nevermind. I just saw the starting price on your website. Each wheel is about the price of a set of OEM wheels. That's a little too much for my budget.

Each R101 Lightweight wheel is designed around the make/model vehicle, based on weight/load ratings and roughly how much power the car makes as well. With that said, we have not had a request for a ZL1 1LE fitment R101 Lightweight yet (GT350R just got finished up), so I can tell you weights for the C7 Z06 which for 19x10.5 would be 18.00lbs, and the rear 19x12 is 19.40lbs

Pricing isn't for everyone on these R101 Lightweight wheels. Since we are fine tuning the weight savings on these, it takes a long time for design, a long time to program and of course a long time to actually machine the wheel. We do have more simplistic designs for Motorsport oriented wheels that are easier on the wallet, but you're still paying for a very high quality product, so prices won't be as attractive as our FlowForm wheels for example.

I spoke to your shop back in August(?) and your Guy told me that you were getting a ZL1 1LE for fitment in a few weeks. It was the same time you posted the new wheels here.

Did that not happen? Or was it a regular ZL1?

I'm also looking at placing an order.

Please keep us updated.

Thank you for posting.

How much heavier are the "non-lightweight" r101 wheels and the price?

I have mixed feelings on the lightweight forgings offered by any company. I paid top dollar for an American made race wheel and bent it the first day on track. They seem to be agreeing to fix it which is going to be where the value is, but I expected more for >$7,000. I have 5 sets of wheels for this car and the heavier wheels have not bent. The car is 4000lbs. I think that is the most important thing to remember.

That's why I have another set of "heavy" OEM ZL1 1LE wheels coming...

If it was back in August it may have been one of our employee's buying a 1LE, but it was not a ZL1 1LE.
It's on our list of cars we want to scan, but we haven't had one come in yet because of scheduling conflicts.

If you're set on wanting the R101 Lightweight wheels for yours, send me a PM so we can chat real quick and I can tell you how the process will work from this stage (pre-development of the wheel for this specific car).

Very good question. The "Lightweight" version is basically the R101 on steroids and diet pills. We've removed as much material as possible for the specific car it's intended for, so our 20x9.5 we make for the BMW M3 might weigh 17.20lbs, but the 20x9.5 we make for the Porsche GT3RS is 18.40lbs, so not all Lightweights weigh the same, rather they're cut and machined and lost weight depending on the specific car's load rating and so forth. Because of that there's no clear cut answer how much less the R101 Lightweight weighs versus the standard R101, but rather I can give you some examples of weight:

HRE R101
19x10 - 19.80lbs
19x11 - 21.40lbs

HRE R101 Lightweight
19x9.5 - 17.20lbs
19x11 - 18.00lbs

HRE makes the best wheels in the game...if you're prepared to part with a LOT of cash for them . Had a GS with HREs that ran me over 10k.

The stock rear rims on a Viper are 19X13 and they weigh as follows:
Venom Wheels Rear 28lbs
Sidewinder II Wheels Rear: 22.92 lbs

28 is pretty common and 22 or less is damn good.

That kind of weight reduction per corner would provide a massive improvement on track.

This is the case that is hidden by many wheels marketers. Durability versus weight is a discussion wheel companies hate to have. There's a reason why race teams with lower budgets choose wheels like the BBS E88... they are simply more durable and are easier to fix. Can you afford all out performance or do you need durability at the cost of ultimate performance? Wheels bend all the time, and it's up to your wallet to decide what is acceptable.
