Traction Light & Then Limp Mode

I went to drag strip on the weekend with drag radials. Don't know that had anything to do with this issue. I installed my street tires yesterday and it took a while for the car to recognize the TPMS on these tires, but it did eventually.

Now the issue. It happened twice today. I'm leaving a stop at a regular speed, not fast at all. The traction icon on the dash starts flashing and I have no throttle for a few moments and then things seem to go back to normal. Any ideas.

Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 10 mins and then reinstall. Seems like these cars react weird to big tires in the back. Seems like it freaks the car out. After you try that, let us know if it worked

How much of a difference was there between the diameters of the front and rear wheels? Significantly more, or less than stock?

I agree with everyone else, we will need the difference of your tire height.

I went with a 26 inch tire in the front and 28 in the rear and it did the same exact thing, only fix for this is to run the same size tire all around.

I now run a 28x6 in the front and 305/45/17 in the rear which means 28's all around. you can get away with that same rear and running stock tire in front as stock height are 28s as well.

I have the stock tires in front. I have ran both 305/35/18 (26.5") and 305/35/20(28.5") in the rears, No issues at all. And yes...I have a separate tune for both. The 18's I run at the track.

Anytime anything electrical goes wonky....I pull the negative battery cable for 15 mins or so.

I think about an inch or maybe a little more is all GM gives in the variance of the front and rears. If its 2 inches that could cause some issues.

They seem shorter than stock, but the specs say the stock tires are 27.2" and the ET streets are 27.8". The stock fronts are 26.8"

[QUOTE=MP3BOOSTED;10727581]I agree with everyone else, we will need the difference of your tire height./QUOTE]

I run the OEM tires in front, 285/30ZR/20 Goodyear F1's and 305/45R/17 ET Streets in rear. The specs are 26.8" for OEM fronts and 27.2" for OEM rears. The MT specs are 27.8". The thing is the issues occurred after I took off the ET streets and put back the stock tires. The car didn't act up today, but if it does it again, I'll do the disconnect the battery fix. Here's my run at Auto Club Fontana this past Sunday. I ran 11.43, but my grandson ran it at an 11.39. Thanks for all the help, much appreciated.
