The timing chain guide spring causes oil pump failure by causing high oil pressure that causes low oil pressure? What am i missing here?

From what I understand from looking at the post is the tensioner breaks allowing it to rub against the oil pump. The rubbing wears a hole in the pump and the hole causes low/no oil pressure.

I don't see how a cam chain tensioner can rub a hole in an oil pump that is at the bottom of the sump, maybe 15 inches away.

This describes a different failure than the one most often discussed on this forum. The failure plaguing LT4’s doesn’t have anything to do with the timing chain guide.

Interesting picture. I see the spring on the tensioner here... But I don't see where it rubbed the oil pump... In fact I don't see the pump at all.

This is an interesting topic, do you have any other pics?
