rotors are 12.6"


Does have Red Brembo fronts (J6F) which Rockauto lists these as a replacement for SS as well????

The door jamb sticker with the QR code only has a partial list. GM used to include the full option code list on an RPO sticker in the trunk, but they "optimized it out" in 2019. This is mine, see how many more codes it has vs the door jamb info.

I don't know how one can obtain the full list these days. GM customer service used to email the build sheet with all the options and their descriptions in email, but they cut that service out as well...

I believe J6F simply means red painted calipers from searching a few links and the forums

J6F is a GM code for the red Brembo calipers, not a Brembo part number. So you won't find anything on the Brembo website.

I wouldn’t use J6F but I can’t 100% give you a straight answer unfortunately. I’d just bank on using the J55 solely and nothing else to search for pads if it was me

I wouldn’t use J6F but I can’t 100% give you a straight answer unfortunately. I’d just bank on using the J55 solely and nothing else to search for pads if it was me

I wasnt sure if J6F was only the color RPO or if it was specific to the size of the caliper...

Yeah it should just be the color RPO. To my knowledge the only differing RPO for size calipers/rotors are the ones listed in my chart

Bumbleboy92. Would it be safe to say that the lt1 with 12.6” rotor and the c8 corvette base with 12.6 rotor are interchangeable? If so I’m guessing the 13.6” that is on the newer lt1’s without copper pads would be interchangeable with c8 z51 front rotors

I believe there's a very slight difference in rotors but no clue on my behalf until someone tries really

As far as I am aware, all LT1 Trims (2020-2024) use the J55 brakes, including California Models. My 23 has the J55 front brakes and it came from California.

That is true, I made the chart a little more confusing but wanted to include the new information. J55 is the RPO code for 4 Piston front/single Piston rear, 5LQ is the additional option that is added along with J55 for 6 Piston front brakes.

PCU is the additional option for the SS that adds 6 Piston front/larger 4 Piston rear.

So essentially, (click each link for an example)

LT / LT1 regular cars will have J55

LT / LT1 cars with 6 Piston front upgrade will have both J55 and 5LQ

SS cars with the “4 Corner Brake Upgrade” will have J6M, PCU, and 5LQ

But the LT items only applies to 2020-2022 since they stopped offering them past 2022. PCU (4 Corner Brake Upgrade) for the SS was offered all the way to 2024.

You’d need to buy new sized rotors, along with appropriate brake lines for any 6 Piston upgrade. But they will fit with the right rotor and brake line. Technically every single one of these RPO’s are interchangeable except the 1 Piston rear calipers as the parking brake is integrated on those

Only from 2020-2022 for the LT / LT1 to my knowledge, maybe prior but can't verify. There were very few cars with the 6 Piston option (<5 a year)

According to this thread, 5LQ was seen in the 2016-2018 RPO codes so it may have been an option from the beginning

I was just reading about it, found out that 22 was the last year, and deleted my question haha. Definitely not a common thing, especially for $3,300.
