Yes, Chevy would be better compared & contrasted with Hyundai or Kia.

Caddy also uses the Chevy build engine so there is that. And Caddy probably doesn't have piles of extra cash laying around these days since they spend it all buying out their dealers.

I would expect a "refresh" when Caddy launches their first electric ... in 21 or 22.

I already know people who don't remember a time before the internet who don't understand why you have to go to a dealer and talk to anyone to buy a car when they can buy a 60" TV and have it delivered to their doorstep with three clicks on a computer mouse.
The difference with online shopping and car shopping is that I can usually return the stuff I buy online if they don't work as they should, or I am just not happy with it. Even if I can't, usually the cost is so low that I won't feel too bad over binning it.

A car, not so much. Tesla used to have a return policy but I believe they recently stopped doing it, so if you don't like something then you are stuck with it(or take a huge hit and resell it). So I would prefer something in real life before I make a decision. Doesn't have to be a dealer, just anything with real cars will do.

Believe me if Tesla built traditional internal combustion V6 sedans and V8 trucks and sports cars, I'd have at least one in my driveway right now. They're selling cars the right way, and they're made in America.

I just won't ever buy an electric car.

The one Tesla store in the Cleveland area is about 35 miles from where I live.

I believe Tesla has mobile services where they send out vans for services.

That said, the potato build quality of them means that usually, mobile services won't cut it. You would have to send the car in.

I am not against EV as grocery getters but I wouldn't get a Tesla because I hate Tesla owners. Most cults will look like kindergarteners in front the Tesla cult.

They do. I see them almost everyday as the Tampa Tesla Center ( or whatever they call it) is about a Mile from me.

This is a decent opportunity for the competition right there. Many of us can't stand these elitist, holier than thou virtue signaling clubs, and would seriously consider a quality EV for everyday purposes. (Not you, Mach-E, sorry.)

To be fair, Tesla's technology is good. The non-existent QC and cultist owners are huge deal breakers, however. Their styling has also been steadily going downhill. Everything after Model X is just hideous IMO.

There have always been noises, especially earlier on, that suggest that Tesla should just focus on development and sell their technologies to companies that can actually build cars.

I did look up Chevy Bolt reviews once and it seems solid except the interior is pretty cheap, which is no surprise. The new Leaf also is much more pleasing to look at than the old ones. Mazda is also coming out with an MX-30 which is an EV SUV that can be optioned with a rotary range extender. I have a bit of a soft spot for Mazda and the styling is good as well with the return of suicide doors.

Mach-E is much too expensive and again, for something fun, EVs will never cut it for me. Don't care how fast it is, an EV is a grocery getter for me.

We still need a large 3-row SUV or something similar, so the Bolt and co. are all out for that purpose.

My problem with Tesla is that it's basically a remote touchscreen on wheels with very few tactile controls, a basic interior and lots of quality/servicing issues, at which point I'm no longer interested—it's a cab that should take me from point A to point B and do that cheap, neither of which does it achieve just yet. Yeah, the acceleration is insane, but so is the price still, and their fan club is a complete embarrassment to be associated with. I don't care for the prepubescent S-3-X-Y acronym game either, and oh my, how darn ugly these cars are. The Model S is somewhat of an exception, maybe, but at 100k+, it's out of my ballpark.

The Taycan would be a better quality proposition, but the relative lack of room and especially the price are dealbreakers of course. The Mach-E is just another boring SUV, they even messed up the classic Mustang taillights. Not sure what else is out there to attract a family car/SUV purchase.

C'mon man!
Interestingly, by the way, GM does have something similar for the 2021 Escalade: https://visualizer.cadillac.com/?car...hannel=b2c&s=t
