Is 500 RWHP possible with FBO without E85

Hi guys do you think that 500 RWHP is possible if? :
- I want to stay NA
- no crazy cams or tunes (daily driver and gas is expensive here in Europe)
- no E85 (don't have that here)
- keep the cats (emission laws are similar to California)

So basically, with a changed intake, throttlebody, shorty headers, a tune that will not kill the gas millage. And anything else you can suggest.

My car is a 2018 2SS

From the results I've seen on this forum and elsewhere if you are going to break 500 RWHP you are going to need long tube headers, a cam change and probably E85. With the mods you've listed - you will land in the 450 RWHP range (on the higher side if you have a 6MT and the lower side if you have the automatic tranny).

Sorry FBO alone will not get you to your goal.

Why shorty headers the gains are less then long tubes. The stock exhaust manifolds are pretty good and the gains from headers are not as much as in the past because of GM development in that area. Go long tube.

Your car has shorty tri-y headers from the factory. And no you can not hit 500whp FBO without E85...at least on a honest dyno. Even with E85 it it's a stretch but has been done on a few cars.

I think that I would be happy with that result, especially if the car felt much faster.
Is your tune very extreme? Did you tune the tranny?

If I can get a good wide power band (not saying it isn't that now) trying 500 is not a must
I agree with you.

There is no such thing as a Extreme tune. Yes you can tune a car and leave power on the table or you can tune it correctly and make max available power without pushing the limits of the engine.

My car is an M6 so nothing with the tranny. It’s tuned for 93 octane pump gas, and I told him I wanted a safe street tune.

I'm not 100% positive but I think from everything I've read, a 6 speed can hit 500hp, but that's complete full bolt on. Meaning, long tube headers, cat deletes, big throttle body, hi ram intake, Cai, under drive pulley, tune, and e85. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'd like my future expectations to be realistic!

I agree with most of this.

I dyno'd 500 (A8 trans in 4th gear) with a 95mm tb with a ported MSD...but yeah, I think e85 is gonna be the ticket and he's gonna need to lose the cats for sure. Timeslip on that power with decent weight reduction yielded me a 10.44@128.8
