Might buy a 2017 tomorrow. but torn. Manual or 8 speed?

So tomorrow im goimg to look at 2 new 2017 Camaros. Both 1SS. But one is an 8 speed auto and the other a 6 speed manual. I will say when it comes to muscle cars and sports cars i have always went for the manual. I love driving the car and shifting the gears
But.... This time im thinking auto. 2 reasons. First the 8 speed auto is faster buy .3 seconds and with the paddle shifters you can shift sort of like the high end sports cars and super cars. Which to me makes it more modern. But the real reason im thinking about going with the auto is the Camaro is a lot smaller inside then my Scat Pack Challenger that ill be trading. And i have kids that will go in the back seat. With the auto i wont need that extra front seat shifting room and ill be able to move the front seat up more to creat more room in the back.. It sounds good in theory. Lol... Am i right? Obviously when i get there im going to test both out with the kids and then make a decision.

I signed on for the first time in like a year to tell you the manual is amazing. I work at a Chevy dealer and have driven both, yes the A8 is awesome but the M6 is absolutely amazing. The auto rev-match makes it actually really easy to drive in traffic and its more fun when you're playing.

Sounds like you know what to do, but your heart is tugging the other way. Haha. Congrats on a new SS...you won't be disappointed either way.

People can tell you why you should get this or that, but their reasons may not be yours. Just get what you know you want.

I have an M6 2ss and my 4yo fits in there fine with seat back. With seat forward it doesn't hinder shifting in anyway IMHO. I think the manual brings more enjoyment to the overall driving experience and yes I have driven both. A8's paddle shifters hesitate more than my liking and not a fan of 4 cylinders shutting down. Kinda boring driving an auto I think. Although the auto has the option of remote start and remote window lowering if you're into that sort of thing! lol

Normally id go 6 speed manual. But im torn because of the above reasons i mentioned. I have to be able to fit my kids behind me and i think with the auto i can move the drivers seat up more i wont need that extra leg room to shift.. Plus the 8 speed auto being .3 tenths faster makes that reason even better. .3 tenths is a lot. A definite plus with the manual if my kid still can fit behind me is that my wife cant drive manual.

Well, I don't know how tall you are, but if you need a fair amount of room, leg room in the back is going for like 100k an inch. For real.

Go test drive then go home and think about it if you are not 1000000% sure which way you wanna go. The worst thing ever is having buyers remorse every time you reach for the shifter and wish you'd gone the other way. The kids will outgrow the back seat before you know it.
