Engine Issue For Sure/LT1 *New Update* (7/9) Engine in Page 7 (Pics)
This morning as I was pulling into work a loud squeaking knocking sound came from the engine. I pulled into a parking space and shut the car off. Started it back up and the same sound. Shut it back off. Checked the oil and dipstick showed extremely low. No leaks under the car anywhere. No check engine light, no low oil light, and oil pressure looked fine. Called road side assistance. Took 4 hrs to pick up my car. It's at the dealer now. No one has gotten back to me as I been calling the dealer since it arrived at 1:00PM. They also say they are out of loaner cars. Dealer is now closed! Horrible day.. Only 3000 miles. Only mod is straight piped exhaust. I work 1 mile from my house and mind you my average speed to date is 28 mph. Car has barely been driven spirited. Thought the LT1 was better.. Not one issue out of my L99...

From the info I've received from LONG TIME service managers at Chevy, the LS3, LS5, LS7, and LT1 have all had catastrophic failures....glad you made it through!

Well I actually didn't make it all the way through... Nobody likes dropping $4000 on a $40k car and its at the dealer after 2 1/2 months!

I have not had engine issues yet, but mine has been at the dealer for the past 3 weeks due to other issues (http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=456731). Not happy that I spent close to 50k on a car, and it has already spent a month total in the shop out of 2.5 months of ownership. After all the issues with my 2011, and now this, I am almost ready to give up on these cars. My 1998 Z28 has proven more reliable. I have had it since 2005 and it has spent a total of 3 weeks in the shop in 11 years.
