Sorry we can't get a deep tone from the V8 without being raspy. I really don't think the v6 will sound any deeper than a v8

Flomasters always give a car that deep sound, I’d recommend a 2 chamber /etc. that would be the cheapest route.

You can get a deep tone from the V8 without the rasp. At least as long as you still have the factory exhaust manifolds and cats.

3” exhaust, X-Pipe, with Flowmaster super 10’s. A chambered muffler is what will give you the deeper tone.

Here’s my car in the video

An H pipe will give you a deeper sound than an X pipe. H pipe and 2 chamber muffler are your best bet.

i was wondering about the Borla X-pipe with midpipes (second cat delete) that is 2.75" for the SS (#60606) to put in my V6. would it affect performance? going from a 2.25 to a 2.75"?

Our stock V6 xpipe diameter is 2.25" and so is the borla X-pipe for V6 (#60611) is the same 2.25", and more expensive than the one for SS. the one for the SS is a little cheaper and 2.75".

my goal is deep sound and some performance, and i plan on keeping the "suitcase" NPP for the time being.

I have the borla x-pipe (60607) and a corsa xtreme axle-back (14784BLK). No drone what so ever. It has an insane low-end tone, but rasps under WOT. The rasp sound is in good taste and sounds high-end (not cheap). I'm not sure if there's any system out there worth getting that doesn't rasp. Also, I'm not personally a fan of flow-master for the Gen6 lineup, never have been.

In my opinion, if you're staying NA, most mods won't drastically improve V6 performance. Even having a ZL1, I never expected much performance from an exhaust from the get-go (headers excluded from this discussion). Obviously a greater exhaust diameter creates a more efficient exhaust flow and all of that, but it's not going to be very noticeable to the driver.

Edit: Video of a ZL1 1LE with the same setup as mine. 13:00 - 13:30 is the exhaust clip. Not sure how it would sound on a V6.

Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the insight. I may be better off with a low mileage used 2ss, many more options to mod and some of them V8 aftermarket parts are cheaper than the ones for V6 such as the SS borla Xpipe,
