So now that we are learning more about the 10 speed wonder who all is going to choose what. My first poll to ever try and do so I might mess this up. haha

I'm honestly intrigued by this 10-speed.......I'll be honest, I still want a stick...but if the auto escapes gas-guzzler tax, that about does it for me. Everything else appears to be awesome about it.

The 10spd auto looks to be a sweet trans, but I'm A manual guy and always will be.

650 hp with a manual transmission is a lot to handle for a DD on the street in my opinion. If I bought a ZL1 it would be a daily driver.

Ah good point there, think the manual will get the tax? Does the 2ss have it on either model?

Look to the CTS-V and the Z06. Both feature the LT4 engine. The CTS-V is automatic 8-speed only, and is taxed. Z06 manual is taxed, Z06 automatic....is not. This A10 seems to be even more efficient....so my hopes are high.

I know everyone is excited for the performance of this new A10, but it's still no substitute for a manual or dual-clutch on a track, unless that track is a strip. Notice just like last time with the A8, the only stat that was touted as being better than the dual-clutch is up-shifts. No mention of it beating the dual-clutch in down-shifts or paddle shifts. It's efficiency is it's best advantage over the manual or the A8 with the extra overdrive gear and lower parasitic losses. That could very well translate to avoiding the GG tax.

I'll be ordering the a10. One it will be my daily driver and I just can't drive a standard in traffic anymore. Two it just sounds like it will be awesome if it shifts the way the vids portrait. I'll have more of a problem deciding on a color than anything else.

With respect...I've been in it. Witnessed the paddle shifts, as have several other members of the automotive press. It's astonishing how quick it is to respond to paddles. Instantaneous.

The rest of the information about overdrive and higher efficiencies is just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

Frankly...until they become cheaper...I have no interest in a GOOD dual-clutch transmission...or the compromises that come with most of them on the street. If this new A10 can deal with the heat of a track day (the one in Nevada did), and avoids the GG tax? I'm all in.

Id lean towards the a10, but I'd like to see some of the car reviewers to get their hands on it and read what they have to say about it, especially before buying one so far, everyone has said its been awesome
