SS vs 1LE
I am a looking to buy a camaro soon and cant decide on whether to grab the 1LE package or not. I've been reading on here and it seems like most 1LE owners are happy with their purchase whether they track their car or not.
As for me I plan to use mine as a daily driver, roll/dig racing on closed roads with friends and maybe the drag strip once in awhile. The only thing that intrigued me about the 1LE is the rear gear ratio, but I will likely NEVER track my car. Is the 1LE a waste for me? I imagine going with SS+adding 3.91 gears > 1LE for my purposes? thanks for the response and i apologize if this in the wrong forum. |

I think the looks along with the Recaro seats are enough for me to buy one over a base SS. And having the 3.91s really help these cars out if you plan on doing bolt ons and a cam down the road.

What Matt told you is correct. But the 1le is more than just gears, do you like the rims off the zl1? But in your case the SS w/ 3.91's will be a better opt for you if you want to drag race. Make sure you make the right decision so there will be no regrets.

Ya I would go with a SS and 3.91s. Although the 1le is a very sweet setup, but it's more road type racing and not what your doing.

I have style 41 replicas that I've had for close to two years. They are great. Get the ss add lowering springs sway bars bigger wheel and tire setup and add gears

Someone buying a new LS3 Manual would be nuts not to pay $3500 for what the 1LE pack gives you whether you track the car or not. Buy the 1LE.

Those wheels are cast not forged like the ZL1/1LE wheels. Nowhere near as strong, you get what you pay for.

If I were to buy a new model right now I would definitely not consider the 1LE.

Every part the 1LE adds is a stronger/better performing piece than what it replaces. The 1LE transmission is rated for 500 lbft of torque vs 430 in your car. Fuel pump rated for 600+ horsepower. There is no drawback to the 1LE.

The blacked out wheels don't do anything for me, so the aesthetic changes don't appeal to me either. I respect it for what it was designed for (road course), but I will chew one up in a straight line and have also only spent about $3k aftermarket (all mods in total).
