Dip in power at higher rpms

I just went out for a Sunday morning drive and was pushing the car hard and noticed sometimes at higher rpms, maybe 5500 there is a dip in power that happens. It's almost like a surge, it's pulling fine then a dip then it returns. I was in track mode PTM race and I did not break traction. Do any of you experience this? Also is it just me or does it seem pointless to Rev it out to 6500? It feels like the car is pulling power at over 6000. I assume this is torque management because it's really noticeable in first and 2nd gear.

a few quick questions; How many miles are on your car? Do you have factory plugs in it still? What fuel are you running and how long has it been in the car?

The TM system on these cars is very active, but tyipically the automatics are a little calmer because they aren't as hard on the driveline.

Your car makes max power around 5700 and that could be the biggest reason it falls on its face around and after 6k rpms

2500 miles, completely stock. Fuel is 93 and replace it often.

No, not that I haven't revved it that high yet and it's an automatic.

I noticed the EXACT same thing today with mine. I have a 2018 M6 with 1800 miles. I just did my second oil change yesterday.

I am glad to see I am not the only one seeing this. It is almost like it gets fuel starved for a second. But considering the amount of black soot I see on the outermost tail pipes, I believe she is running rich.

But this does look like a fuel curve issue... Or the fuel pump cannot keep up...

I'm going to check my air filter tomorrow. Maybe there is a bunch of pollen in there or something. It might just be torque management though.

That rules out your plugs and bad fuel from sitting through the winter. How hot was it outside ? The LT4 does pull top end power when its hot outside and your blower is pushing hot air in.. usually it's not real drastic though. With the detail you have given I would say the TM most likely.

No no don't worry my friend. Even though this happens it's not that big of a deal. I'm just being observant and picky I suppose. The car is amazing and you should not be concerned. My car is perfectly stable and does not go side to side.

most likely either timing is being pulled due to fuel octane or loss of traction was detected resulting in throttle being reduced.

Mines a 2017 A10, no issue with mine except that according to the tach, it shifts slightly early from 1st to 2nd because it revs so fast and the tach can't keep up, lol. All other gears shift at redline like clockwork! No power dips. Only mod is RotoFab as an FYI.
