The 0w40 fill caps are being produced in both dry and wet sump versions. So presumably, as indicated in the press release, the new formula is for all LT1 and LT4 engines.

As for why the ZL1 1LE still specifies 15w50 for track use, it will likely see higher temperatures. It can start accelerating earlier and brake later, meanwhile the engine must work harder to overcome the extra aero.
Interesting point re the aero but stickier tires have never led to higher operating temps in my experience. Seems very heavy oil especially if someone runs it in cold temps start wise. But i am sure GM knows what they are talking about and why.

An Ask Al poll just went up that includes questions about oil for track use. I'm certain the 0W40 will come up in the response...can't imagine how it wouldn't.

Maybe poke over there and cast a vote if you haven't already!

I just got off the phone with my local dealer. They just got 1000 quarts of M1 ESP 0W-40 Dexos2 in stock (GM# 19353135).

They are asking $11.32/qt

I'll be ordering online at $6.XX.

The only thing I'm still confused about is the fill cap. I re-read the postings here but I'm still not clear on which GM part # fits an 18' ZL1. I'm looking for the Mobile1 0W-40 fill cap, to be clear. Would someone mind clearing this up for me?

Thanks!

Post 22 - I asked the same question

Watch the shipping cost as they vary wildly among the online dealers. Try these...

gmpartsdirect.com
gmpartsclub.com
gmpartsgiant.com

add shopchevyparts.com to the list.

I shopped around for the anniversary grille and these guys had the lowest price by far and the lowest price for shipping - $37.00, but they are not the lowest on everything.
