I get 18 with my hardtop. Do 'verts get less mileage?

My guess, the tester guys were hammering on that 6.2 and burnin' rubber, so that would explain the mileage level (IMO)

Easy explanation - the mustang was an automatic and the guy who liked the mustang never ran it hard. They guy who liked the camaro was pushing it every time I saw him shifting, so naturally the gas mileage was going to suck. I doubt the other guy ever gave the camaro a chance (he seemed like a mustang fanboy) so he probably never drove the camaro hard anyway.

My onboard computer says 16.7 mpg for 24000 miles, 2016 SS a8. Put every mile on myself. I don’t know how you guys are getting over 20

The dweeby English guy is obviously very short. I sit with my seat all the way to the floor and seeing over the hood is no issue.
Also, I didn't realize there was such a weight difference... The Camaro coupe is lighter than the Mustang coupe; so does the vert really add that much?

It’s as much where you drive as it is how you drive. I’m in the Detroit area. When I drive in the city a lot, my mileage goes way down, mid to high teens. More stoplights equals more idling equals lower mpg. But there are areas that I drive a lot that are urban / suburban. I get great mpg on Woodward Avenue and on Telegraph Rd. because I can drive 45 - 65 mpg with few stops. Car spends a lot of time in V4 mode. I’m typically low 20s in those areas, high 20s on the highway and crossing town on the interstates.

Fun fact...The "tussle" video was apparently filmed in and around Detroit. I recognized most of their shoot locations. It had to have been done fairly recently, too, seeing as how they managed to snag a Hot Wheels vert. But also because a lot of their footage on Belle Isle shows prep work on the island for next weekend's Detroit Grand Prix.

I drive onto the island 2 - 3 times a week with my bike on the carrier and bike a couple laps of the island. Here's a shot from the Camaro dash cam on part of the island where the Grand Prix prep was finished. And another parked on the island, with the bike just off of the carrier.

18 miles each way to work 5-6 days a week. 15 of it is highway. I’m not flooring it the whole time but I do avg 80-85 on the highway when I leave work at 10 pm. There’s no one on the road so I’m not sitting in traffic. I’m just not seeing how you can get 20+ mpgs regularly. I took a 2 hour turnpike drive once and that was the only time I got above 20 mpgs, as soon as I got off the turnpike it went back to 16-17

I can get 30+ (over a 50 mile span) if I travel on the Natchez trace - speed limit is 50 but I set the cruise at 55. Ive broke 36 at times on the trace.

There’s either something wrong with my car or my right foot, probably the latter

Yeah, when I engage the right foot mod I get around 14 mpg.
