Ordering a 2020 Camaro SS, question about 2nd Generation Ground Effects
Ordering the vehicle soon, and one of the options I'm thinking about will be the Second generation ground effects in Carbon Flash Metallic.
My question is for anyone that has seen or chose this option, How is the clearance, mainly in the front of the car? I'm worried about scrapping or having issues pulling into elevated areas when driving the vehicle. Thanks in advance, Will |

Depends on how steep it is. I have a 2019 with Ground effects. Clearance hasn’t been an issue but anything I think may be questionable I drive in at an angle and carefully. The second gen Ground effects to me are no different than the 2016-2018 version. Now the second gen 1LE front splitter is definitely longer than the Ground effects front splitter.

It doesn’t really effect the clearance.... pull into driveways or businesses slow and you’ll be ok!

Will, you just have to be more careful pulling in to driveways on a hill and parking lot concrete bumpers at the front of the spaces. Once you get adjusted in your mind to being more careful and attentive with the front splitter, it will be no big deal anymore. When I got my used 2017 ZL1 last March I had to learn quickly about the front splitter as compared to the front of the 2016 SS I had because of the damage I could do to the ZL1. It just takes a little time and attention to getting used to having the splitter on the car. I would order it if I were you because it really makes the front end in my opinion better looking!

Not entirely sure about the side skirts and the diffuser that comes with the package you selected, though. The diffuser is just a subjective personal dislike, but getting in and out of the car is already a bit of a challenge without side skirts, I have kids who ride in my Camaro occasionally, so I haven't jumped on the side skirt bandwagon yet (but I did upgrade the spoiler in an attempt to match the front splitter's aero effect).

The 1LE splitter is actually not a huge problem around town either. I can get into and out of most places at a 45 degree angle. The bumper height - even in the 1LE - is pretty sufficient (and way higher than the GT350, I might add).
The bigger problem is actually the stiffness of the chassis. When entering steep parking lots, I end up lifting a rear wheel & have to rely on my LSD to keep me moving. |

Awesome, really appreciate all the responses. Sounds like I do not need to worry too much about it. I'll post some pics soon as it comes in.
Ty again folks, Will |
