Anyone have a valve cover leak?

Hello all!

I have a 2016 V6 M6 and I noticed today that my driver side valve cover has an oil leak in about the center. It's not terrible (yet), and I've certainly put on my fair share of valve cover gaskets on older cars, but I really didn't expect this with 49K on a newer car.

Is this just me? Or have other people had the same thing happen? I still have a powertrain warranty so I hope this is covered, if not I'll be breaking out the wrenches.

Thank you for the reply! I've thought about just tightening the bolts, but I only have 10K left in my warranty so I figured I'll just have them replace the gasket.

Yes, I would at least look at the gasket. On an untouched motor I think a distorted gasket is more likely than loose valve cover bolts.

+1
they are torqued at factory with precision equipment that monitors the torque. If they are loose most likely its because the gasket has failed.
