and its a fun technical course with a pretty good size straight but the layout changes each event !

I've been to one event and liked it for several reasons. You get in & out fast, because you don't have to work, and you sign up for a 1/2 hour or 1 hour slot (or two half hour slots separated by a half hour like I did, to let tires cool down). The surface of the Angels parking lot is smooth, and after grinding my tires in San Diego and El Toro, my 8 laps with Pure Track just seemed to smooth out and clean up my tires! Also, the course was fairly fast in one spot where I got a good 3rd gear pull in my V6 car, but the rest was a series of good second gear corners where I was able to develop a good rhythm, and a couple chicanes where it was possible to stay on the gas if you got them just right. Very fun.
These characteristics may or may not appeal to you: The course last time was fairly short, around 36-40 seconds for the fastest cars. Honestly I am happy with that length, and don't favor the 70-90 second courses I've driven before. The course is laid out so that it's pretty easy to read, and easy to avoid cones. They use mini-cones, chalk lines and they lay down some temporary plastic curbing, not to ride on, but to show where the course goes. People weren't getting lost on the course. I would prefer to see a results board, get some time slips and have at P/A with an announcer. Pure Track said those changes are coming, along with a parade lap to see the course at the start of every run group. |

Looked at some videos and seems like a mini road course with some turn around but no slaloms? The visuals do seem appealing to the eyes.
