Yes, LS3 conversion is deleting VVT.

I have an l99 and did the afm delete only when I changed the cam out to the GPI SS1 vvt cam which is now the SS2 cam and I absolutely loved the torque it had down low. But if you don't like burning your tires all the time I would stay away from it because even if you slightly get on it while your turning from a dead stop you can get yourself in trouble real quick but that's what traction control is for. I am currently rebuilding my engine and am using the SS3 vvt cam, it should be fun.

You're dreaming. California. Enough said.

If you go for it anyway, I kept my VVT for drag racing.

Likely not worth the trouble to cam if you can change pulleys for more boost and still stay "CARB legal, sorta".

Agree with gt on this one. Once you do start messing with aftermarket cams and such you run the risk of not ever getting it to remain CARB legal in Cali. Unless you have a bud at a shop that can "squeak" you through. As long as it is SC'd, just do a pulley change and keep it legit.
