2020 C8 Z51 VS 6 Gen Camaro SS A8/A10

Just wanted to make a thread where we could predict what mods it would take a 6 gen SS in automatic variant to hang neck to neck with a Stock C8 Z51 in a straight line Roll/Dig

Obviously any sort of boost would easily make the camaro SS faster, I’m curious what minimum mods do you guys think can make a SS equally as fast and what mods can make it just enough to edge one out ?

YouTube videos have C8s running anywhere from 11.3-11.5 1/4 and they trap 120-121 I believe. I believe a SS On E85 and maybe some headers with the right tires would be enough to hang neck to neck with one from a roll and dig.

And to just edge one out minimum mods would be like a Rotofab, Ported stock TB and intake manifold, headers and x pipe, and E85 and a tire

What do you guys think? I’m talking strictly straight line no corners

There's a guy on FB who's ss 1le m6 is near fbo I believe, he didn't have too much trouble with a c8... it was a Pray car though.

Talking about strictly a dragstrip here, I think that you'd definitely need a few mods to keep up with a stock C8. For something of a reference point on mild mods to an auto SS, my 6g SS (A8) went 11.3 with mods: 17" drag radials on the back, E85 tune, v-max ptb (which didn't do squat) and drop-in air filter (also didn't do squat). Your idea of E85, headers, tire might be comparable to the C8 on the dragstrip.

Reminds me of the good ole days when the C6 was one of the fastest cars but a bolt on Fbody for 1/3 the price could hang of not beat a C6 with just bolt ons. In a straight line Atleast
11.3 with just E85 tuning and tires is insane man really quick, that’s what C8s are suppose to run

I can’t believe nobody else wants to chime in!
