It's just supply and demand, i can't get mad at the dealer for this. I like a dealer also will sell cars for under msrp when the supply is up. Way, back when i started paying attention to cars, a new miata in 1990(i think) was in the classified section of the paper being listed for $30,000! I remember it so well. Inflation adjusted, that's close to the cheapest c8 you can buy at msrp.
I will say, i don't like when manufactures set an expectation for a cars pricing and don't produce them in number to keep the price lower than msrp. I've felt that way about the focus RS, civic type R, Mustang 350R, and maybe the bmw m2. These cars seemed to exist in show rooms as halo vehicles to push the lower versions of the models they were representing. For example, it didn't seem like dealers wanted to sell a bunch of focus RS's, they wanted to use the draw of the RS sell you a focus st or lower. Last edited by Hops; 01-16-2021 at 12:47 PM. |
