You also get some of the premium things the GT350 never got like digital dash.

But.. You lose the Voodoo which made the GT350 so distinctive and you basically have the same HP as a Bullitt. Personally I think they should have bumped the HP up a little in the Mach1 so it would have sat between a Bullitt and GT350 and still had the more reliable Coyote.

They made so many GT350's that it might be hard to argue buying a Mach1 for the same price as a nicely configured low mileage GT350 with an extended warranty.

Where the Mach1 may have some appeal is the A10 offering as people who can't/won't drive a manual did not buy a GT350 and the GT500 is just very expensive. But I don't believe you can get an A10 and the handling pack on the Mach1?

It also just makes the SS1LE/SS2LE and ZL1 all the more a better value by the time you add up the costs.
Yea handling pack is still m6 only. Ford doesn't use slush box autos on any track car, either m6 or dct. I actually sort of feel the 2021 a10 ss 1le was a quiet response to the a10 mach 1.

This ^

But the Mach 1 has all the cooling whether you get the A10 or M6. The handling pack IIRC just adds tires, and some aero bits...so not sure why they only want that for the M6 unless they just feel like "because tradition"

Yes they both have trans coolers but the m6 has the gt350s trans cooler, the a10 I assume has some sort of GT pp1, maybe pp2 if its the same, trans cooler. Again I'm assuming here, that the gt350s trans cooler is superior to anything that came on a GT but I could be wrong. The m6 will also generate less heat period and will be less to cool down which is favorable for a more hardcore track car. Could be tradition too though, which I respect Ford for.

Anyone know if it still has a teeny econobox-sized fuel tank? Instant deal breaker for me....

Fuel tank size is the same on all S550 from my understanding. It's, at least, the same as a base GT.

It will be 16gal just like the current GT, GT350, and even GT500. I have heard stories about people pretty much running out of gas at the track on the GT500. It probably should have been 19+ capacity.

Yea I did see some complaints that the GT500 needs very frequent fuel ups. A tank cap of 16 gallons for a modern 760 HP supercharged engine weighing over 4K pounds and with only a 7sp trans was just plain stupid. Meanwhile the ZL1 has 19 gallons. The Hellcat has 18.5 gallons. Even the C8 has an 18.5 gallon tank.

Mach 1 auto can now get the handling pack as well.

Handling pack is 3500 option.

The grille looks pretty nice. And the color scheme is sweet. But I would have liked it to have a different hood. Preferably a Shaker like the New Edge Mach1s got. Otherwise not bad. Definitely gonna be a premium involved on it.

If you ask me, Ford should have kept in line with the SN95 GT > Bullitt > Mach1 > Cobra. These days that would mean the Mach1 getting a detuned version of the Predator engine. Maybe somewhere around 620-680 HP. Like how back in the day the Mach1 got the same (or a similar) DOHC engine as the Cobra but was just on a solid axle. It was far and away a much better performer than the GT was. But now it seems more like it's just a version of the GT instead of a version of the Cobra. But it still looks nice.

Absolutely! Only makes my decision to buy a 1LE next year that much easier. I have sat around for a few years to see what shakes out in this segment and it is clear nothing is even close to the 1LE in its price, and there never will be.

A shaker hood option would be awesome!

I mean, the Mach 1 sure is a nice ride. But $58k? We're really getting away from the whole 'value proposition'.

For context, in late 2019 I paid $48.5K for an 18 GT350 with 1440 miles on it. Recaro seats, electronics pack, stripes. Car was like new with almost the full warranty left.

Because of Covid the used GT350 market has shot up, but that’s not sustainable. This is why I still struggle with Mach1 pricing. Unless you can get it well below MSRP it’s pretty tough pricing. I paid $42k and change for a new 2020 SS1LE..

No friggin way is the Mach 1 a $10-15K better car. No way.
