Blind spot monitoring and rear view camera eliminate poor visibility. Man up!

This is a result of the "high belt/slammed roof" design theme brought to us by Carl Welburn. You would all laugh if you saw the BMW 3 Series they taped up to show the original ATS greenhouse. The ATS had similar, but nearly as severe problem.

So please everyone, take a step back from the internet and accept the fact that simply because you don't have a problem that other people must therefor be wrong.

It is a problem. Unlike how some here want it to be true, every magazine writer is not an idiot. Yes, again the internet, if you disagree with me then you must be an idiot.

You see I can grasp why some people don't have a problem with. LOL someone once said the poor visibility was ok because they compared their Camaro to a McLaren Super Car. Great if that's how you feel and love it that it isn't an issue for you. But it still doesn't mean it's not an issue.

By the way for reference, my Master's Thesis was on the development of driver packaging and vision tools and I managed the Ergonomics Department.
No one is denying the problem, Number 3. What we "deniers" refuse to accept is this "info reverberation" that magnifies this out of proportion, when it's a compromise that we find reasonable—agreed, not everyone does, and I also see why GM needs to broaden the car's appeal, this is why I said several times how a relatively small beltline and roofline change, say, along with splitting the taillights to widen the trunk opening would address two of the biggest concerns of every online review, maybe even three as it would help with rear headroom, too.

There's also an interesting dichotomy here: those that still want a gasoline V8 in the next gen are "stuck in the past", "unable to see the EV future" and are called to adapt, yet when people who actually give the Camaro a chance become okay with the worse than average visibility of a sports car in less than an hour (a textbook example of adaptation), visibility is still considered a huge problem.

My 2011 Gen 5 SS had visibility issues- felt very low in the cockpit. Not with my 2016 Gen 6 though- I have excellent visibility. I had a 2018 Mustang GT and it was no different than my 2016 SS.

Is there any new car that doesn't require some "getting used to"? Isn't that what makes a "new car" new?....For some reason the Camaro is not allowed this accommodation...and must be disparaged and denounced.

Those who find the visibility a problem with the Camaro feel compelled to convince those who don't that they are lying to themselves and everyone else.

Tell me which car you don't have to adjust the mirrors on, adjust the seat and spend some time getting used to driving it?

Yeah, those first few impressions on a Camaro are deal-killers and design flaws that are unforgiveable and deserve endless bashing.

Probably a good thing the impatient and weak-skilled don't buy a performance car that all the owners who do drive them find to be just fine.

Only gen I have not owned is a 1st gen. I don't find my 6th gen any better or worse than any of those previous ones. They all had lousy blind spots. Guess I'm just used to it since '79.

When I strap in, to the camaro. Its fits me and is so capable I really dont have any issue with the visibility. I have had gen3, 4 ,5 and several gen6 camaros. Loved them all. Tried a C6 vette for a few years as well. Fantastic ride as well.

Like the OP, I really dont have an issue with the visibility thing. I look at the heads up and try to keep the front pointed in the right direction and go.

I came from a 2 door wrangler that hasn't had a top on it in multiple years (i.e. absolutely the best visibility you could possibly get in a car) to the Camaro and I have zero issues with visibility. With my mirrors adjusted right, I can see everything I need to see.

My only concern at all is the front splitter just because it sticks out and I can't see it, but it's not a big deal.

Yeah, that's it.

Could it be better? Yep.

Is it overblown? Yep.

I am no English Master, but you have to realize, on some level, that when reviews call the visibility "gun slits", "driving a tank", they are hyperboles.

As for the traffic light thing, usually there is a traffic light that's lower and to the side, so just look at that one, or stop a little farther away from the intersection.

Sent from toaster or something

yes you can get used to it.

The problem is that its been talked about so much that anyone that does a little research will see the poor visibility comments. they then go on a ten minute test drive with a preconceived notion that I won't be able to see out of this thing. Their feelings are confirmed and they may or may not walk away.
