Pre-load launch method for stick cars (How-to video inside)
Hey all. I wish I could get on here as much as I used to, but GPI and my day job keep me pretty tied up! This fall I created a How-To video for the "Pre-load" launch method I like to us at the track for my stick shift Camaro. I see on here and on other social media that the question of how to launch these cars is constantly being asked - and answered with limited, incomplete, and sometimes really bad advise.
I'm by no means an expert, and a lot of guys are faster and do it better than me. But, I was willing to condense my thoughts and approach into a video. I honestly don't like it very much, and held it as private for the last 5 months while trying to find time to re-do it with a better script, better edits, and even more information. I have shared it selectively with a few guys I've talked with directly, and their very positive feedback leads me to acknowledge that, 1 - it's not too bad, 2 - people really want this information. Knowing I'll probably never find the time to re-do this in the near future, I put it out there. So, I hope this can help a few of you guys. It's not the only way to do it - but I've found it's a big help in cutting down on breakage, improving consistency, and improving overall 60' times. I go through my full program at the track - tire pressures, burnout methodology, how I approach the tree, preload the clutch, my pass, and the shut-down. The second half of the video is full of info on upgrades to consider to make the clutch/driveline work better and stay reliable. If it helped you - leave a like or a comment. I'm always open to criticisms too, and since it's the internet I'm sure those will be there as well! https://youtu.be/ywSxWyGEo4o

Yes sir, that video you did will really help those folks out there wondering how to launch. I believe you covered everything for them. Great job. And thanks for the tips on some mods that you gave me for my Camaro, made a difference for sure.
