2021 Camaro Wireless CarPlay

Looking for actual use feedback on factory wireless CarPlay. How fast is the connection? Anybody experiencing micro pauses or stuttering while streaming music? This seems to be an issue on the GM truck forums.
Thank you for sharing your experience.

Connects in 5-10 seconds of car starting. Honestly it works better than most other vehicles wired car play setups I’ve had. Had one time where it was cutting in/out the last 2 months of ownership. You can still use wired CarPlay if needed.

I have three GM vehicles with it. I have not had that issue at all in any of them on any of our test phones. I have seen a couple of others have it but resolve it doing a network settings reset.

It has worked flawlessly so far in my Camaro. I am very pleased with it.

I have noticed this at times with my 2021 LT1 as well. It doesn't seem to resolve even if I plug the cable in. It just resolves on its own after a while or turning car off and back on...

Any insight you get I would appreciate as well

Thank you for the replies. I am using CarPlay2Air and have the stuttering. I am consider the White Automotive factory wireless CarPlay upgrade. Worried that over the air updates may be problematic. Glad to hear many have no issues with current software.

I've found it to be excellent so far. No lagging or cutouts in playing music

If it goes away on its own after a while, my bet is it's caused by network communication delays/errors, background module (CPU) activity such as downloading and decompressing an update, internal file system maintenance or something similar (just examples).

Audio decoding and playback is not very demanding, but very latency sensitive, anything in the pipeline that prevents the next sample from reaching the D/A converter will cause skips and stutters. Hard to tell without internal logs or debug messages... but this is such a 1990's, early 2000's problem, I'm a bit surprised to see it on a modern architecture.

So I’m assuming that a version of android auto is installed in the car and your phone syncs to that? How do updates work? Would the car automatically update android auto?

My '21 does this too.. Only fix I have found is to disable wireless CarPlay on your phone to use wired only.
