Other options then Toyo r888r for 1/2 mile?

I've got a few weeks to replace the current 315/30/20 toyo's and was planning on up sizing to 325/30/20 but when pulling the road race set off last week I was reminded just how noisy these things are and they didn't last long at all.

What else is there for straight line stuff with a 350 mile round trip involved and the possibility of inclement weather and getting at least 5-6k miles?

Car is currently 675whp.

A 325 all-season that can handle 675 at the skins. Not asking for much are you? LOL! I did a quick search on Tire Rack and Discount and selection is minimal to say the least. I would say stay with the 315s and go with the Michelin Pilot 4s. Keep in mind they are a summer tire and you're up in cool country. I've got them on my Z/28 but I don't drive it in temps below 50. I'm probably going to do the 888s for my C5 Z06 eventually but I'll trailer that to events.

dbs, have you looked at the Nitto 555R2? Darn near anything that has good drag strip performance is going to be poor in the rain.

Agree with 555RII being a good option except that they are not rated possibly for the speeds he will be achieving.

305 30 20 Trofeo R comes on the McLaren 365 it runs 9.3 at 155 seems pretty impressive according to dragtimes.

Yup I agree on the Nitto555R2s. I run them on my C7 Vette.

Those Nitto tires look pretty impressive but how would they perform in wet weather on twisty mountain highways? That is what the OP has to contend with on his journey to race events.

After reading on the post about the nitto2's I got all excited only to look up on nittos site and see it listed the 305 as what would fit. I'm not wanting to go 325/35 and raise the car up another inch in the back and hope it doesn't rub.

I walked around the pits at the last few events and the consensus was the toyo's being the best, but we all agreed we hate the noise and longevity isn't their strong suit.
I've decided that whatever I get is just for straightline events but I do have to do the round trippin thing.
My son bought me a 24' enclosed trailer with a swing up door that was sweet, but I told him those days are over and I didn't want to have to now buy a big truck to drag that as the 20' trailer I'd used previously worked my little taco, even with 385 ponies under the hood.

It looks like I'm back at the toyo's and turning up the radio...

Pirelli Trofeo R 305/30/20 99Y good enough for a stock mcLaren to pull off a 9.3 at 155mph

I thought he put on a set of 720 wheels with R888R tires for that 9.3?
