what about paint? Cutting from the inside, I do not if just tape outside will hold it.

Drill works best from the inside on both corners then a sharp xacto knife to remove the middle section and clean up the drill frays.

I used blue painters tape on the painted side of the bumper. I used a drill bit the width of the opening. I don't remember what the size was. But I drilled a row of holes and then used a razor knife to clean up the edges. Some folks have used a dremel as well.

I believe the template I got was from ACS. Maybe a friend with a real zl1 1le will let you put a sheet of paper over it and trace. The side marker and seam line is what the template used as a marker.

If I have time soon I'm going to install my FI interchiller while the fascia is off I can trace a template and mail.

Figured I'd revive this, always been interested to install the only the canards on mine and close to pulling the trigger. If I'm only installing them and remove the tires, do you think it's possible to remove/install the bezels without having to drop the whole bumper?

For kicks, did you happen to have time to trace the template during the FI chiller install?

NO. The bezels are the biggest pain in the axx to remove and there is no way you are going to do that with the bumper on the car.

I didn't think so, but I surely was hoping, lol. Good to know.

Ordered the dive planes and bezels over the weekend, but I'm sure will be several weeks to get them in and painted before I can install.

100% accurate, even though I didn't want to believe it, lol. I suppose it's feasible to remove bezels with bumper on the car due to location of them, but not even remotely worth fighting them inside your fender well, just remove bumper it's easy.
