So the belts are on and the pump is installed. It's a little tight getting the pump bracket bolts in and out so a 10mm gear wrench is your best friend here.

Almost to the balancer bolt install. Thanks for the updates and let us know howit goes. This is the only part causing me concern.

Nice. How did you keep the crank from spinning. In the old old SBC days I would use a prybar in the pulley opening to lock it against the block. The Whipple install calls for just a torque number, not degrees.

The tensioner bracket and all the pulleys are now installed. When installing the tensioner bracket be sure that the engine wire harness is loose and out of the way. The steps before have you deal with the harness but I took it all loose again to get the bracket in.

Car in 6th gear with the parking brake on and the back wheels on the ground. The car did move forward just a little until all the slack came out of the drive train then it stopped. But that was just at the very top of the torque range.

Do you have the Whipple manual? I have been unable to locate it.

Okay I'm done for the night. Again the directions did leave out a minor step or two but nothing you can't figure out as you go. The biggest problem of the day was that stupid AC stretchy belt. After messing with it for over an hour and trying to modify my install tool (Grinding and cutting) to no avail. I then called Jannetty Racing and Nick set me straight. 5 minutes later, it was done, a little information goes a long way. Lesson there is if you run into trouble don't go it alone call one of our vendors here on C6 these guys do this stuff every day and are full of useful tips. They will save your butt and it's much appreciated that they will take the time to help.

So after another day on the install, I'll still say that a home install is doable for anyone that can read directions and has some mechanical ability.

Since I'm waiting on the fuel line extension, I'm going to have to skip a few steps today and head to the inter-cooler install. Looks pretty straight forward but we'll see how it goes.
