Bye bye Gen5, hello Gen6
My 2010 2SS A6 is going bye bye. It has been fun.
But not to worry! It's being replaced by a 2023 ZL1 A10! See you on the Camaro6.com side soon. |

Did I just see a '23 ZL1 listed for $90K?
Here's a bargain with only 2600 miles. WTF is GM and Ford smoking? A >V6< Bronco Raptor is $105K. NO Thanks, Joe and your inflation. Sorry, not my cup 'O tea. But enjoy it!

Yeah car prices were not the best as is and all the covid stuff sent it over the edge, I still get teary eyed reading about sport trucks in the 90s and early 2000s for less then a cheap car today. On the other hand now might be the last chance to buy a brand new Camaro before Chevy retires it for time being, might even be the last time you can buy a Camaro with a gasoline engine in it which is sad.

Congrats!
I simply can't justify that kind of money for a toy or insurance for said toy, but I would certainly love to watch you roast those tires.

Congrats.
I was at a crossroads 2 years ago. Get a 2021 ZL1 convertible or continue building the 2013 SS convertible. I decided with what I had in the SS already it made more sense to keep going than start over. I’m just under 1000hp motor currently (810-ish rwhp) and it’s a solid 10 second car. I wish you the best with her. |

I gave my Camaro to my brother.
I got a '17 C7 Corvette Z51 with only 5k miles from my super duper uncle. |

I so want a C7. They can throw the C8 abominations into the sea, but that C7 is sexy as hell.

The only thing I can say is the sheet metal is paper thin. Lotsa fun though.

I'm just saying that the dollar has had a cumulative inflation rate of about 132% since 1991 when the most expensive Z/28 Camaro was about $20,000. But a new ZL1 - assuming it's the modern version of that elder Z/28* is trading at over a 300% inflation increase. WELL beyond the simple dollar. That's just not an increase most people's budget can absorb. Like so many things now, it's a departure from reality, in my opinion.
*different animal but still a representative sampling of similar models by GM. In fact, the ZL1 would probably be considered a step down from a Z/28 if a 2023 version were available. (using a 2015 as an example)

and the pricing index companies have been using to set prices have climbed to whatever they know people will pay...and credit has been easy access for people who really cant afford to pay it back in the short term...its not inflation, its corporate greed.

If people won’t pay it the prices come down. These idiots paying 30% APR for 84 months for their Hellcat are an example of personal responsibility. Inflation is certainly not helping, but there are still more buyers than vehicles as one dealer near me has every truck on its lot at $5k over MSRP and is getting it. I paid under sticker for my 24 GMC 2500HD AT4 which is unheard of.

Obviously, there are sectors of the workforce that are booming. My business has absolutely tanked this year. There is no way, all things taken into consideration, that I could entertain even buying a decent used vehicle this year. But I need to.
But if 2023 has turned into a, "wait-and-see economic year" for new business, what is a contentious election year next year going to bring, 500% increases in vehicle prices from 1991? It doesn't make good sense.
