I would not read into that picture at all. There is no chance the dimensions of the car change.

That picture is photoshopped. give away is the rear brakes ... they are on the back of the rotor and should be on the front. so take everything you see here with a grain of salt.

GM Authority is not a reliable source for any accurate information.

Its been confirmed several places in the forum that MY24 production would start this summer and end by january 2024.

Here's a comparison between a ZL1 1LE and the Collector's Edition I roughly mocked up with a model.

https://i.imgur.com/f2Tkl75.mp4

It may not be an actual photo of a car but rather an online mockup they had done.

On the official photo attached to the press release, you can see some better photo's than the video.

2024 labeled Collector's Edition photos all say 'ZL1 with Collector's Edition Package'. The side profile photo of the 2024 car description states a regular ZL1. It appears to come with a ZL1 1LE wing (the wheels are regular ZL1 wheels and there are no canards on the front bumper. The hood also appears to be body-color painted)

You can also see in the press release photo that the calipers are both facing the rear of the car. None of the 6th Gen cars have that caliper orientation. Seems like they just copy-pasted the front wheels to the rear on the photo and forgot to move the caliper on the rear wheels.

If you'd like to see for yourself, you can head to the press release and download the image up to 1080p. Slap it into Photoshop: quick and dirty, slam the brightness, and skimp the contrast.

You get this.

Maybe they've changed the entire rear knuckle of the car after not introducing any moderate changes in the last three years but I'm leaning towards the side of a shotty Photoshop job.

Edit:

Mike beat me to it a few replies up

So nice of GM to give a final middle finger with skimping on the photoshop of their 'farewell announcement'

It's 100% a photoshop. The car is definitely a regular ZL1 with a ZL1 1LE wing in that video. Now, is that how the ZL1 CE package will come? Who knows. It's probably just something an intern slapped together for the video.

So what is the reason for the '24 model year production only being 6 months? Lack of parts or using the other half year to retool the factory for a 7th gen? I know no one has the answer, just thinking out loud.

They probably have run the numbers on anticipated models + their inventory of engines and transmissions and other components.

LGR is slated for EV production. The 7th gen won't be produced there unless it goes EV.

Extreme lack of interest in the Camaro from GM since 2016. Hell, likely long before that.

There was some discussion that the all electric Corvette may be built in Lansing.

They don’t care much, or at least their marketing team doesn’t. The shotty photoshop of the CE plus this nice send off to the Sixth-Generation

(Plus the bottom left one lmfao)

Maybe but an all electric Corvette is a long ways off.

Al Oppenheiser being reassigned to the EV division a few years ago was the death of high performance Camaros as we knew it.

With Al.O at the helm - we sure saw some amazing 6th Gen Camaros especially with the 1LE variants.

It is what it is...
