You need to ditch the "red" 1. The ZL has disappeared and all you see is the "1". Looks weird to me.

That looks awesome. Really good job.

Is the flow tie wrapped? Or painted?

#CVP33 did you heat and gently pry that grille ZL1 off?

The front Flow-tie is pinned in with the pins heat plasti-welded in place, grill removal a must.....

What is Plastidip, a spray paint?

Thanks

When I was redoing the RS emblem on my 2021, which has the same kind of locating pins as shown in the photos, it came out all too easily - almost jumped into my hand. I'll be interested to hear if those ZL1 grille emblems came off as easily.

Yup, as stated, very little heat and the grill letters pop off. I like the red 1 and I’m good with that sticking out. Kind of a - “if you know you know” thing.

Where did you get the emblems from? Did you just pull out the front grill ZL1?

Looks good.

Nevermind. I see part of the response above.

Some nice pictures on here … maybe a spring project. I really wish there was an option for black tailpipes from the factory. I’m not a big fan of the chrome which end up getting dirty anyways.

I’m all in for eliminating the chrome bits on the exterior emblems.

I have two questions..if anyone has ideas / answers please let me know. Otherwise, I’ll just give it a go

Is there a trick to realigning the letters so that they’re clean and straight? Tape alignment before removal and reinstall is an option, but I have a feeling it won’t be perfect (I don’t have a steady hand).

Secondly, does anyone know if the chrome letters attached to the painted LT1 letters are heat welded together or double side taped together?

I’d like to paint the letters charcoal metallic (same color as 1LE wheels) and maybe ditch the backing chrome pieces all together.

I'm not doing mine but if I was going to R&R emblems, I'd create a box outline of it with painters tape. That will get it back where it was. Make marks on the tape as needed for letter spacing.
