New Torque Converter... No Tune?
I just had a new torque Converter installed. 3200 Stall. I am coming to the realization that all the local tuning experts are backed up. Will running the car with no tune be a serious issue?

I think a lot of stuff will be off - did you drive it already?
If you got HP Tuners you could get a remote tune from someone like GPI.

John, I babied it home from instalation and it seemed to be fine. I noticed that at one red light I got on it some, but it didn't seem to shift. I called Speed Inc, but they are booked till May and want to redo the entire Tune. I'm hoping Mike Norris can squeeze me in before Camaro Fest.

If you get HP tuners or sct you could buy an email tune for it.
I remember seeing a shop on this forum that offers transmission tunes for 75 dollars. driving it with a stall and no tune can damage the transmission.

Yes, you need a tune. Without a proper tune you will most likely hit the rev limiter on 1st-2nd gear wide open shifts.
Also, tuner needs to look at the lock up. I made the mistake years ago and put a higher stall converter in my 4th gen Fbody without a tune (because everyone said I'd be okay). A few weeks later my tranmission was fried and I had to get it re-built. So get a good tune. My tuner has actually spent hours (making fine tuning adjustments -part and full throttle tuning) getting my car to run just right with my 3200 stall. |

I'd go ahead and get the whole transmission tuned asap, and add a transmission cooler if you didn't already.
