2nd gear slipping? (6MT)

So I got my v6 used with 10k miles and I am wondering if the first person to own the car just trashed the clutch. I notice when I am fully on the throttle in first gear, after I shift to second gear the engine rpms hang up and redline and either slowly go down to 5-6k or just stay up at ~7k. Is this common with this engine transmission combo because the clutch has trouble biting at full throttle 6k rpm? Or is this the first sign that a clutch replacement is coming in the near future.

Thanks.

That doesn't sound normal. My previous Camaro was a M6/V6 and it didn't do that. If you just bought the car then I would consider taking it back to the dealer to see what they can do to make the car right under warranty.

If you're stuck fixing it yourself it could be an issue with the hydraulics or mechanism not engaging the clutch properly rather than a problem with the clutch itself. Maybe start by bleeding the clutch and refilling with fresh fluid.

It's Certified Used and has full warranty. Sounds like I'll be taking it in to the dealer then.
