Don’t put peoples lives in danger, there are split spokes on eBay right now for $400.

I think for street driving you will be fine. Walk around an autocross paddock and look how bulged some of their sidewalls are. I saw one Miata at SCCA TT Nats at NCM that I literally could not believe he was driving on tires like that, let alone tracking them. I wish I would've taken a picture and looked at the tire size.

WOW! I am glad that I read though this thread. I had purchased a two Lexani All Season 275 35 R20 Z rated tires for the rear and two 245s up front to go on my RS wheels because I wanted better traction. They were pretty cheap. When I lined up the 275s next to the front wheels they looked like monster truck tires. I promptly sent them back and purchased a set of 255s instead. Thanks all for the timely posts!!!

My setup on my 2019 Camaro 1LT 1LE RS v6 is keeping the fronts stock at 245/40/20 because I tried 255/45/20 and 255/40/20 but it seems like you cannot go any higher at the front. That's as far as I know because I tried upping them just a tad bit and they scrap like hell. My rears stock were 275/40/20 but I was able to up them to 315/40/20's.

So you have a 315 tire on the stock 8.5" wheel?

I’m running 275/35/20’s on the rear with zero issues. That’s the widest SAFEST size you can run on a 8.5” wheel.

i have 275/40/19 all the way around no issues clearly the handling wont be as good as stock due to bigger front wheels but overall not much of a difference.

Yes I'm currently running 315's on my back ones. I don't have a picture of it but I did screenshot this photo from a video that I took.

I was able to find several matching split spoke to mach my RS wheels from SS take offs on FB marketplace. bought a full set for 650 swapped out my rears & sold the 8.5 full set for 500. went with 285's indy 500's all the way around now. much better tire and setup in my opinion. be patient and keep looking for a matching set. they are out there. good luck!
