Next Steps after Supercharger
So Ive had my 2.9L whipple @ 9.5psi installed since last November. Its making 650hp dyno, with no other mods, and has been super smooth and trouble free.
But now I'm considering a few more changes. And I'm interested in other suggestions. My idea at present is to work my way down the following order of mods, as finances allow: 1. LT4 full fuel system, then 2. Piston replacement, then 3. Full Exhaust, then 4. Throttle body, then 5. Cam and head porting I think if i did all that, and maybe went to 10.5psi, then id be about as far as id want to go i n a streetable car. Id be guessing the above should enable approx 850hp if all done and well tuned. Comments, ideas and suggestions are welcomed!! |

I would do pustons and rods at the same time as the cam since you will be in the motor

850 is a reasonable target. Just make sure you do a low side fuel pump as well otherwise you will run out of fuel.
We have some great deals on everything you need. Drop in pistons, cams, exhaust. Hit us up when you're ready. Great shipping rates to Australia too |

I am building similar set up with 2019 (LT1)Whipple, Tsp custom cam, heads, drop in rod/piston combo, headers, high and low side fuel, e85, meth etc. I need advice on wrist throttle body will work best. Whipple specs say you can upgrade to a 102 or 109mm. But I want to make sure I get one that will work without needing an adapter or whatever. Suggestions please

My suggestion ... email Whipple. I've done this a couple of times on technical issues and they were pretty helpful and quick to respond.

The hollow valves (ex is sodium filled), are weak spots, especially the hollow steel intake. they should be replaced when doing heads IMO.
then for the M6 it would be a Zl1-1le driveshaft ($150 fro Ebay), some aftermarket 1/2 shafts (GM performance is backorder). Then a Zl1 clutch or aftermarket $$$$$$, boost gauge. digital A/F. I don't want to debate but your wideband (used for tuning) is not meant to run forever hooked up. But you should keep an eye on the A/F and a gauge to display the factory 02 levels would be great. There are "ways" to get the data to the display.

I wouldn't waste my time on a cam, I'd do pistons and rods first.

If you’re doing pistons & rods, it’s a no-brainer to do the cam at the same time. Keep in mind you need the bigger HPFP fuel lobe to make big power anyway.

I would do a gentle ramp cam, you don't need much and but you could use a little more lift and duration for more RPM. For me on a centri, RPM really made the package more street friendly. I would assume the bigger PD would respond the same way.
