Toyo R888 fitment

Will the 315/30/20 Toyo R888Rs work on a 2018 SS 1LE (OEM rims) without rubbing? Thinking about getting them but for the price, I don’t want to be wrong.

Would like to know as well, since Toyo shows them being tested on an 11” wide rim. I’d actually like to know if we can run the 325/30/20 size...

Yes. Harness relocation strongly recommended, I don't know if they would rub without that, it felt likely.

The rear wheels in the pictures are aftermarket (MRR 017) with the same dimensions and offset as the 1LE rear wheels.

Thank you. How do you like them?

The wheels are fine, lighter than stock and much cheaper. Although they aren't forged like the GM 1LE wheels, they aren't cast either (they're flow formed), and I don't put extreme loads on the car. The paint job on the wheels, however, isn't exactly top notch, there are several uniformity issues, but they're not bad enough for me to go through the hassle of trying to have MRR agree to a replacement, plus eventually I'll get them powder coated anyway.

As to the R888R tires, I sold them and am running Michelin PS4S, because although they're very sticky, I found the Toyos too noisy, not civilized enough for the street. Swapping them on and off was just wasn't worth it for the few times I go to the drag strip.

How do you like the PS4S?
How do they compare with the OE GY F1SC3 ?

I used to have the 888 on another car (Front Wheel Drive) and they were just too noisy for daily street driving

I have a non-1LE 2SS that came with the runflat Goodyears and never tried the SuperCar 3 tires. The PS4S is in a different league compared to the runflats, but that's no surprise. Agree about the Toyos, even these newer R888R's are noisy and I read the old R888's were worse.

They fit fine.

285/315 on MRR017 (stock SS1LE sizes/offset) on ZL1:

IMHO R888Rs are overkill for the street... noisy, and will pick up all kinds of debris when hot. Work well on a dry track, more grip than SC3, not as much as SC3R.

I had these tires on a smaller car, a Lotus, and they worked very well on street and track. Of course, the Lotus weighed half of our Camaros. I didn't think they were that noisy, but then the Lotus wasn't exactly soundproofed anywhere so there was plenty of road noise from everywhere.

BTW, the noisiest tire I ever owned was the original GY Supercar F1 tires on my 1985 Corvette. With the top off the car they were loud enough to interfere with listening to the radio.

This is true for a SS 1LE too, correct? What works in the ZL1 will work on the SS 1LE, right?

Yep, wheel specs are the same on the SS 1LE and the ZL1 (non-1LE).

Had the OEM GY EAGLE F1 assymetrics, upgraded to 20x10 and 20x11 and I now have the SC3s 285/305. Love them.

My PS4S WITH 2K MILES are collecting dust on my oem rims. No grip. Dry traction is not what they are known for when compared to the SC3S. My car doesn't get driven in rain so the exceptional wet traction doesn't apply to me.
For my driving style they underperform.
