What's amazing to me is the Zl1 1LE is only 3 seconds slower. So, not sure it's a positive for the ZR1 or the 1LE. I didn't think 3 seconds was all that bad to be honest with ya, but I guess around a track, that's a beat down.

3 seconds slower and half the price....
The ZR1 is an awesome car but I still can believe what the Camaro does for the price.

Something how GM was able to take something as awesome as the ZL1 1LE and then make the Vette destroy it. This shows how incredible the ZL1 really is. And it shows why Ford needs more time developing the GT500. First it was supposed to be ready for late 2018 release, then early 2019 release, and now it won't be ready until MY 2020. GM is definitely on top.

And another thing, videos like this shows exactly how potent the LT4 is and exactly why GM doesn't need to change a thing on the ZL1. We don't need the LT5 when the ZL1 1LE is this badass. To be able to push this car this hard and for it to not even skip a beat is truly magnificent!!

I agree. Even tho the track is fairly short, looking at both runs, I was like, damn. The 1LE hung in there. And yea, for half the price. Either way, both cars are sick and Ford or Dodge can't produce anything remotely in the same league as these 2 cars. Well, Dodge can in the Viper, but it would of taken the ACR to run the ZR1, but again, same price point. You can get an ACR for $150k so.

I think if the ZR1 was running the 7 speed manual gearbox the times would have been virtually identical between the cars. The guy driving the ZR1 was just using 2 pedals, and one of them was on the floor most of the time. There is more skill involved with the manual especially on a relatively short track. That car with 750 hp and the A10 was hard to beat on that track.

I think that it would be more fair to compare the ZL1 VS the Corvette Z06, both have the same HP. And also for both to have the same type of transmission both automatic or both manual.

Good call. I didn't think about that. What do you think the A8 gives as far as advantage? A full second? More, less?

Those tires were on it only for the photo session. On the track they ran a new set of the sock tires. Here is what they said in their comment on the video:

"There were some rumors that we didn't use the Goodyear tire on the ZL1 1LE for the test. That's not true! We used the Michelin Cup 2 tire only for the photo shooting and a set of brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R for the whole test including the lap time. Why was the ZR1 as fast as Z06? The outside temperature was much higher than the temperature on the day we tested the Z06. You can read the whole story in new sport auto 8/2018."

Aloha Gang,
I noticed the 1le didn't go around the track as good as the ZR1. I wonder if the 1Le driver drove it a little better I think the times would be almost identical. If you watched the Youtube video, I am wondering if GM did that on purpose to show that the ZR1 is superior since it costs more. I know spec wise the ZR1 is better but if you watched the lap carefully, I believe the 1LE could have done a little better.
Just my 2 cents.
I also found out that the 1Le did the Nurburgring 7:13 instead of 7:16. The 7:13 wasn't on video because of their reasons but I believe the 1Le is amazing for the money.
